I'm Chris Bowling, born and raised around Roxboro, North Carolina. I started pulling wire for an electrician when I was fifteen years old and never really left the trade. Since then I've worked as an electrician, a carpenter, a heavy equipment operator, a crew lead, and a construction specialist on everything from government housing contracts to high-end custom homes.

I'm not doing this because I couldn't find anything else. I do this because I like it.

That's the honest reason this business exists. There's something about walking up to a problem somebody else has given up on, figuring out what's actually wrong with it, and handing it back working. A door that's dragged for two years closing right. A deck somebody quit using because they didn't trust the boards. A kitchen that finally looks like what they pictured. I've never gotten tired of that part.

Twenty years of jobsites also taught me what people hate about hiring this kind of work out — the guy who doesn't show, the price that moves, the mess left behind, the phone that stops getting answered. I built Hometown Handyman to be the opposite of that. You call me, you get me. I tell you what it costs, I show up when I said, and I do the work the way I'd want it done at my own house.

So whether it's a half-hour fix or a project that takes a few weeks, it's the same deal: honest look, honest price, honest work.
